Recently soya has been in the news because of the vast deforestation of the Amazon basin to grow soya for animal feed to be used in the US and Europe. Now this:

Over the years I’ve consumed a lot of tofu and soya milk, because it was thought to be “good for you”. This article suggests that soya is not a healthy food to consume in great quantities, in fact, it may be something we shouldn’t be consuming at all. However, the catch is that it is hard to avoid because of its widespread use in the food industry, like the ubiqitous corn syrup referred to in “Fast Food Nation” by Eric Schlosser.
